"Crowns"
A highlight of Michael's career has been to design the hats for the 2004 and 2005 showings of the stage play "Crowns" at Houston's Ensemble Theatre, the largest African-American professional theatre company in the U.S. The musical adaptation of the play, written by Regina Taylor, celebrates the generations of African-American women whose hats fuse faith and fashion.

"Hat Invitation"
Another has been to create the "hat invitation" in which guests received an invitation presented in a fabric covered hat box with hat and invitation inside. Invitations were created for a Houston society bride's bridal luncheon and again for a former mayor's wife, who hosted a cocktail party held in honor of Vogue's Andre' Leon Tally.
